Hey there, I’m Morgan!

Woodworking has always been much more than a hobby to me and I’m so grateful to be in a career where I get to create and bring life to others' visions. Imagining a project and being able to work through the details to bring it all to fruition is such an inspiration to me and I greatly enjoy creating functional, aesthetically pleasing pieces full of life and character. The raw materials I work with are such a clean canvas for creating ‘something out of nothing’ so to speak.

I have been building cabinets and custom furniture for most of my life. I started out building wood projects in my high school woodshop and continued hobbying with it in my dad's shop. I began my journey in construction full time as a General Contractor about 12 years ago and have continued custom building projects ever since. I previously owned a general construction company prior to our move here to Steamboat, then worked for a general construction company for 4 years before starting up Flat Tops here about 2 years ago with a focus on cabinetry and furniture.

So far I have not found any limitations to my craft. Not to say there aren’t any out there but we are always up for a challenge and a new vision. Anything that a client can think of, we have proudly been able to find a way to build. We also enjoy and have experience integrating other mediums into our projects such as steel, epoxy and mechanical devices. These features really complete and compliment our wood pieces and your space!

When I’m not in the shop or installing furniture pieces, you can usually find me spending time with my wife and two kids, outside skiing and hiking, playing hockey, and enjoying a good beer.
